Since the first week of Uttarakhand tragedy, the members and volunteers of various Arya Samaj and Arya Veer Dal have been engaged in all kinds of relief work at the affected areas. Several teams have reached places where no other support has reached and have helped the people to restore their lives. The damage that this disaster has caused is devastating and it is the right time for us to do our duty and help the mankind to restore its faith in the God again.

At a meeting held Arya Samaj, Dhamawala, Dehradun, on Sunday July 7, 2013 under the banner of Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Uttarakhand, it was decided to take the following steps:

1. All the relief work done in Uttrakhand will be done under the banner of Arya Samaj through Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Uttarakhand.
2. Arya Pratinidhi Sabha Uttarakhand will make arrangement to adopt 200 orphan kids and will nourish their lives through Vedic principles now. For this Sabha members will be meeting the CM, Uttarakhand very soon so that these kids can be adopted through due process.
3. Arya Samaj will also help the young widows affected in this disaster. If they are willing for re-marriage, Arya Samaj will give them a minimal financial aid of Rs 1Lakh (Rs. 100,000) each along with the basic arrangements of marriage.
4. Arya Samaj will also make shelter of a total of 200 homes in as many villages as possible. For this we will request directions from the government on where to put up these shelter homes and the Arya Samaj will arrange for the rehabilitation.

The team meat with the CM Uttarakhand on Monday July 8, 2013 and discussed on the above mentioned issues. All the points were very much appreciated by the CM and he offered to extend every curtsey that he can.
